Movie Trailer : Guardians of the Galaxy

Okay so this is about the 4th one since the beginning of the year which does not bode well.

And a few days ago I had an online encounter with a ‘fan’….. who was most likely a studio shill …. raving about the movie and claiming he just saw it. I called him on it and invited him here but….silence. Wanker ha ha ha

But I am still looking forward to it ….. and it’s kick arse soundtrack.

YEAH BABY!!!

Movie Trailer : Felony

Felony film still

I have been looking forward to some news on this movie for a while now and here it is. Starring Joel Edgerton, Tom Wilkinson, Jai Courtney and Melissa George it looks absolutely amazing!

There is not another Aussie actor who does good-guy-caught-in-a-bad-situation angst quite like our Joel. His performance in Wish You Were Here, you can read my review here, is a perfect example of this.

So after watching this trailer I cannot wait for this to hit Aussie cinemas on August 28 ….. you might wanna write that down on your calendars now…. and you should be excited too!

From IMDB

Three male detectives become embroiled in a tense struggle after a tragic accident that leaves a child in a coma. One is guilty of a crime, one will try to cover it up, and the other attempts to expose it. How far will these men go to both disguise and unravel the truth?

Movie Trailer – Transformers: Age of Extinction

I am not a Transformers fan but this one looks really good 🙂

From IMDB …..

An automobile mechanic and his daughter make a discovery that brings down the Autobots and Decepticons – and a paranoid government official – on them.

Movie Trailer : These Final Hours

An Aussie movie…YAY !

From IMDB ….

A self-obsessed young man makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but ends up saving the life of a little girl searching for her father. Their relationship ultimately leads him on the path to redemption.

Movie : Backyard Ashes – My exclusive interview with Director Mark Grentell

Every summer, in backyards all over Australia, starry eyed youngsters with dreams of bowling like Mitchell Johnson or batting like Michael Clarke join their dads who still dream of bowling like Glenn McGrath or batting like Steve Waugh in games of backyard cricket. Wheelie bins are transformed into stumps …… fences, BBQ’s, eskys and garden sheds are declared as either in or out……and families and friends negotiate the age limit at which the grown-ups are no longer allowed to help the kids catch or bowl someone out.

It is against this background that this new Aussie movie is set. Well its not quite as simple as a family gathering…… a whinging pom moves in next door to Dougie Waters (oh yeah…..they went there) and after a kerfuffle with a cat, The Backyard Ashes are on! Check out the hilarious trailer….conveniently linked at the end of my post.

So as two of my great loves……. Aussie movies and cricket …… collide, I was lucky enough to have a chat with the movie’s Director Mark Grentell. He is a busy man with the movie going into more cinemas every week but spared some time to answer some questions exclusively for my little blog. YAY!

Here is what he had to say ….. Mark’s answers are in italics.
