Movie Review : Split

1

When 3 teenage girls, the popular mean girls Claire (Richardson) and Marcia (Sula) and the quiet, unpopular Casey (Taylor-Joy) are kidnapped from a suburban mall car park, the horror is only just beginning. Yeah well duh.

But as you have just shelled out good dollars for an M. Night Shyamalan movie, it really could go either way, huh?

Let me just say, Shyamalan is back to his creepy best. And no I am not kidding.

Movie Review – X-Men : Apocalypse

Following up 2014’s almost flawless X-Men: Days of Future Past (you can read my review here) was always going to be a challenge, especially in a cinematic landscape overflowing with comic book franchises. With all it’s major characters returning and an influx of new blood, expectations ran high. Early reviews didn’t sound too good but whatever….this is X-Men and damnit, I’m going!

The movie opens in ancient Egypt with the world’s very first mutant, Apocalypse (Isaac) trying to live forever. It was a thing back then. His efforts are thwarted and he crumbles as quickly as his tomb, forced to endure until some followers/devotees resurrect him.

From a dystopian future where mutants and humans alike are being hunted and herded by frightening robots known as Sentinels, Wolverine (Jackman) is sent back in time to try and change the future and save the world. The events of a single day in 1973 need to be stopped……now all he has to do is convince his fellow mutants to help him.
